For Magnolia Bostad to be a long-term sustainable urban developer, it is a prerequisite to work with ethics and behaviour in order not to lose credibility as an actor. An important part of this work is the company's preventive work against corruption.
Part of Magnolia Bostad's preventive work against corruption is the code of conduct, which contains the guidelines and requirements Magnolia Bostad places on all employees and business partners in action and conduct. The code reflects the company's values and is based on the ten principles of the UN Global Compact regarding human rights, labour law, the environment and anti-corruption. Within Magnolia Bostad, there is zero tolerance for bribery and corruption and the company's code of conduct contains clear guidelines and requirements against this.
The Code of Conduct is included as part of the introductory training for new employees and has been an appendix to the employment contracts since the autumn of 2017.
Furthermore, Magnolia Bostad has ongoing information on anti-corruption and conflicts of interest for all employees. The Code of Conduct is attached to all major external agreements that Magnolia Bostad enters and the company's partners are expected to take this into account.
Magnolia Bostad also has an ethics council that handles issues regarding ethics and behaviour at the company. The council consists of members from the management group.
Magnolia Bostad's whistleblower function
One way to handle any business ethics problems is to use the company's whistleblower function. The principle of whistleblowing is described in the company's code of conduct and means that suspected violations must be reported. The code is available both on the company's website and intranet. The whistleblower policy is available to all employees and external stakeholders and provides the opportunity to report violations of the law and violations of Magnolia Bostad's code of conduct or Magnolia Bostad's other policies.
Magnolia Bostad's Board of Directors has also adopted a policy for handling conflicts of interest.
